_{FOURTH GENERATION: 1994–2004​ - SN95 (New Edge)}

In 1999, a major facelift took place, deserving this ranking as a separate model year, the soft, rounded lines of the 1994 model we updated with a new, edgy design approach, with sharper, angular lines that were more definitive, in keeping with Ford’s “new edge” design philosophy. The 4.6 V8 was progressively uprated, a 35^th anniversary model featured, followed by a Bullitt GT tribute model in 2001 and a new Mach 1 model in 2003. The pinnacle of these ’99 to ’04 Mustangs was the Cobra R built by SVT, with 385 hp from its 5.4L DOHC engine and all round independent suspension.
