Midweek run to Terrace Downs 19th June 2024.

A cheerful bunch of Mustang club members braved the cold and damp conditions for a run in there cars with heaters on, windscreen wipers going and those with heated seats getting warm bums.

Meeting at West Melton were twenty one cars and forty two club members. We departed for our destination on some very straight Canterbury roads trying to catch the horizon, as we got closer the snow capped alps came into view and as we found out the snow fell fresh the night before and what a great view. Plenty of parking for the mustangs and a great variety from chrome bumpers to the latest EV Mustang.

We settled in at Terrace Downs Restaurant with drinks and it was not long before our food arrived. The ambiance was fantastic with the large open fire going the tables set out in two rows and the views over the golf course and lake. The staff at Terrace Downs very professional and helpful making it a delight to be there.

For Pauline and myself we rate this as one of our best runs we have put together simply because of such a great group of likeminded friends (that means all of you). Many thanks to all whom attended for making it such a great day.

On our way home we crossed the bridge at the Waimakariri Gorge with the rebuild almost complete and the new surface is a great improvement. Coming through Oxford the shops and main street were all lit up with xmas lights ready for a mid winter xmas.

What a great way to finish a great day.
