The Canterbury Mustang Owners Club, organisers of this year’s Ford National Mustang Convention to be held in Christchurch at Labour Weekend, have chosen The Sound, NZ’s radio station playing the Soundtrack of Our Lives, to be their official Marketing Partner to promote this special, high profile event, across Christchurch, Canterbury and beyond.

“The Sound is delighted to be the Marketing Partner for the Ford National Mustang Convention 2020” says Hiliary Schroeder, , Promotions and Marketing Manager for The Sound Canterbury.  “We all recognise the iconic image and legendary status of the Ford Mustang. The association between this famous automotive brand, and the profile of The Sound and our playlist of the greatest music of all time, couldn’t be closer. We’re really looking forward to promoting the Mustang Convention to our widespread, discerning and enthusiastic listeners. There’s a close natural association between The Sound and our mantra of the greatest music ever made, and the world’s greatest pony car”.

Canterbury Mustang Club President Garry Jackson emphasised the Club’s enthusiasm for this new arrangement. “Mustang is a classic brand that spans the generations from the 1960’s to today, and into the years ahead. The Sound is a perfect fit for our marketing activities, and I know that through The Sound listeners will become enthusiastically engaged in the build up and promotion of the Mustang Convention, commencing from late September”.

The Ford National Mustang 2020 convention takes place in Christchurch October 23 to 26, and promises to be one of the largest and best ever single model classic car conventions and exhibitions ever seen in NZ. The highlight will be the Grand Mustang Show at Horncastle Arena on Saturday 24 with an expected 220 or more Ford Mustangs on public display. Go to for more information.
